Best Time to Visit Milan
Milan is a year-round city, but the seasons have a significant impact on the experience. The city's continental climate brings hot, humid summers and cold, foggy winters — the notorious nebbia (fog) of the Po Valley can make December and January feel particularly grey. Spring and autumn are the seasons most visitors and Milanese alike prefer.
September and October are particularly special — the Fashion Weeks in September bring the city to its most glamorous, the weather is warm and clear, and the autumnal light on the Duomo and Castello Sforzesco is magnificent. April and May bring mild temperatures and the Salone del Mobile furniture fair, one of the world's most important design events. Summer heat is manageable though the city empties in August as Milanese head to the lakes and coast.
