Milan Shopping Guide: Fashion Week Capital & Designer Boutiques

Milan is Italy's commercial capital and one of the four global fashion capitals, home to some of the world's greatest shopping streets and the headquarters of Armani, Versace, Prada, Gucci, and Dolce & Gabbana. The Quadrilatero della Moda — the Fashion Quadrilateral bounded by Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Corso Venezia, and Via Sant'Andrea — is one of the world's most concentrated luxury shopping districts. Via Montenapoleone itself is arguably the world's most expensive retail street, lined with flagship boutiques and historic jewellers. La Rinascente on Piazza del Duomo is the city's finest department store, with exceptional food halls on the upper floors and rooftop views of the cathedral. For more accessible luxury and contemporary Italian fashion, Corso Buenos Aires is the city's longest shopping street. Brera neighbourhood offers independent design studios and artisanal craft shops in a bohemian setting. For vintage and second-hand, the Navigli district and the Saturday Fiera di Senigallia market offer excellent hunting. Milan's outlet village, Foxtown, is 45 minutes from the city and discounts Italian luxury brands significantly.
